What if you bought Priority Pass directly? #
Priority Pass sells three plans: Standard ($99 a year), Standard Plus ($329) and Prestige ($469) (Priority Pass). Retail plans set their own guest fees, and some plans charge per member visit too. Check your plan’s page in the app, since guest fees differ from card memberships.
Priority Pass rules that apply to every guest #
- You have to be there. The member must enter with the guests. You can’t lend your card or digital membership.
- Everyone needs a same-day boarding pass. Most lounges accept any departing flight that day. Some have stricter rules.
- Capacity comes first. Lounges can turn away guests, and sometimes members, when they’re full. Peak hours at busy hubs are the usual problem.
- Children follow each lounge’s policy. Many lounges let young children in free, but the age cutoff varies, and some count every child as a guest. Check the lounge’s listing in the app.
- Check the guest count before you sign. If the agent enters two guests instead of one, disputing the charge later is harder than fixing it at the desk.
The Priority Pass network advertises more than 1,900 lounges and “experiences,” but card memberships typically advertise lounge access, and non-lounge experiences like restaurants may not be covered. Look at what the app shows for your membership before you head to an airport restaurant expecting a credit.

On the Sapphire Reserve, an authorized user costs $195 a year. Chase has historically given authorized users their own Priority Pass membership, so check the current terms. At $27 per extra guest, the authorized user fee pays for itself after about seven guest visits a year. For a family of four that flies several times a year, that can happen fast.
On the Venture X, authorized users now need the $125 card for lounge access.
Compare airline lounge memberships #
If you mostly fly one airline, a co-branded airline card with club access can handle groups on that airline better than Priority Pass.
